Young Driver (16 years - off road)

If you are 16 years old, driving tuition can be arranged at Westpoint between Monday – Friday. You won’t need a licence to have lessons here and it can be a good introduction to driving before the legal age.

Intensive Courses

You’ll do the same training as you would with conventional driving lessons, although an intensive course can be tailored to focus on the areas that you’re least comfortable with. You’ll then get a fast-tracked practical test at the end of your learning.

Assessment Lessons

Assessment lessons can be used to gauge your driving level. I will make notes during the lesson and give feedback at the end along with an estimate of how many driving lessons you may need before you’re ready to pass your test.

Mock Tests

Taking a mock driving test is a great way to get yourself prepared for the real thing. I encourage all students to take a mock driving test a couple of weeks or so before their real driving test, as it helps them to get a feel of what the driving test will be like.

Refresher Lessons

It may have been a while since you last drove and you need to refresh your skills, or maybe you’ve just passed but you still feel a little unsure about certain aspects of driving. Refresher lessons are ideal to boost your skills or gain that bit more confidence in your driving ability.

Motorway Lessons

Since June 2018 learner drivers can have lessons on motorways which is an important part of being able to drive. We will look at multiple lane choices, overtaking larger, slower vehicles and reading road signs unique to the motorway network.

Parking Lessons

Bay or parallel parking can be daunting for some drivers but I will take you through the process step by step and allow you plenty of time to practice.

Theory & Hazard Perception Tests

You must pass your theory test (which includes a hazard perception test) before you can book your practical driving test. I will give advice and help you to understand this part of the driving test.

Pass Plus

Pass Plus is a practical training course that takes at least 6 hours and is for drivers to improve their skills and drive more safely. It can be taken at any time although it should be most useful to new drivers in the year after passing their test.

Instructor Training

If you are looking at a new career and are a patient and understanding person with good communication skills then becoming a driving instructor could be for you. I offer training and advice for anyone wishing to become a driving instructor – please contact me to discuss your requirements.
